John Zhu chosen as outstanding MATC graduate

John Zhu is the recipient of the inaugural Outstanding MATC Graduate Award. The award is voted on by MATC faculty and administrators for outstanding academic excellence. It comes with a stipend and recognition on an engraved plaque in Carroll Hall, home of the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Life From a Blank Canvas

A multimedia project by student Melissa Key: After coming to America from Cuba on a raft in 1995, Amalfi Sanchez faced hard times again in March 2013 when he became homeless after a job opportunity in North Carolina fell through. Despite these struggles, his faith gives him hope to continue to follow his dreams. With help from the community, Amalfi accomplishes some of those dreams.
