This  organization is open to any student in the school or university. Its primary purpose is to support and encourage careers for minority students in mass communication and to sensitize media coverage and employment practices toward minorities. It is recognized as a UNC student organization, and because its membership is predominantly black, it is affiliated with the National Association of Black Journalists. The chapter maintains a directory of minority journalism students and coordinates, with the minority adviser, attendance at job fairs throughout the Southeast and in several metropolitan areas. Visit the CABJ Web site.

Carolina Association of Future Magazine Editors
CAFME, the Carolina Association of Future Magazine Editors, is the Ed2010 branch at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It is referred to as UNC's "magazine club" since CAFME spelled out can be quite a mouthful.

It takes various trips such as an annual trip to PACE Communications (Greensboro) and hosts an annual networking night in the spring with the help of the J-school.
