Louise Spieler leads development and implementation of the school’s e-learning programs, global initiatives, professional education and career services.

Her work includes launching the Master of Arts in Technology and Communication, an innovative online master’s degree that focuses on interactive media, the Internet and digital economics; managing exchanges and study abroad programs in London, Paris, Buenos Aires, Brisbane and Pamplona, Spain; overseeing seminars, symposia and workshops for students and working professionals; and working closely with career services for students and alumni.

Spieler joined the school as assistant dean for distance education and executive education in 2004. She became an associate dean in 2008. Previously, Spieler held senior management positions with national trade and professional associations, including the Council of State Governments in Lexington, Ky., the Electronic Mail Association in Washington, D.C., and The Spieler Group, an association-management firm she founded for national organizations of state and local government officials and their corporate stakeholders.  She also co-owned and served as publisher of The News-Record, the county newspaper in Marshall, N.C.
