Just ask UNC School of Media and Journalism alumnus Alexander Trowbridge ’09, a producer at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, whose journey to the Ed Sullivan Theater is filled with restless ambition and more than a dollop of drive. It should be noted that his workplace is #1. The CBS network's late night comedy show averages 692,000 viewers nightly in the coveted 18–49 age group, putting it just ahead of the competition, The Hollywood Reporter noted earlier this month.

Allen Bosworth ’81 runs what he calls a 30-year-old start-up with the mantra “unthink everything”

Allen M. Bosworth IV ’81 is a President at EP+Co, an award-winning integrated marketing firm recently named one of Ad Age’s 2019 “A-List” honorees. As a brash 28-year old with a graduate degree in PR and ad agency experience at DMB&B (now Saatchi) under his belt, the UNC School of Media and Journalism graduate helped build the creative agency with an old high school friend and his wife in South Carolina. At Erwin Penland, the agency’s moniker before a 2017 rebrand, Bosworth served in various leadership roles including director of client services and chief operating officer before being named president in 2016. 
A longtime supporter of the MJ-school, Bosworth recently made a significant commitment to the university’s Campaign for Carolina, enhancing an existing MJ-school fund, The Leigh and William F. Goodwyn Family Expendable FashionMash Fund.

On Thursday, Feb. 21, the Triangle chapter of the American Advertising Federation awarded Workroom FashionMash and Coulture Magazine a total of seven American Advertising Awards at the 2019 gala in Raleigh. The awards are one of the industry's largest creative competitions, with more than 40,000 entries each year.
