Start Here / Never Stop Podcast: Lindsay Shookus '02
UNC School of Media and Journalism alumna Lindsay Shookus ’02 has worked as a producer at Saturday Night Live since 2002 and has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards, winning one in 2017. At SNL, she has been credited with discovering talented stars such as Vanessa Bayer and Kristen Wiig. Shookus has also produced numerous episodes for the prolific NBC show, 30 Rock.
In 2015 and 2016, Shookus was named one of Billboard’s 50 Most Powerful Music Executives for her role in being the gatekeepers for booking guest musicians for SNL. She is credited with booking Chance the Rapper and A Tribe Called Quest for the SNL show.
Shookus visited her alma mater on Monday, April 16, to speak with students interested in the entertainment industry.
